More on Trials

Life at our house is getting better.  Things with Little Bit are near resolution… they should be after nearly 5 years, but adoption can be hard on little people, and on their families.  He is such a different person than he was when he entered our home nearly 5 years ago.

When LB came home, we basically worked on saving him, to the neglect of the other two. Princess was 8, Bubba was 4.   No, we didn’t totally neglect them, but our habits certainly changed. We stopped being so dilegent about training the older too, because LB was so crazy.  And our family is still suffering for those choices.

Spanking is Biblical and legal in all 50 states of this country.  And LB was so out of control that when he came home we should have shoved the paper that we signed saying we wouldn’t spank him far under a rock and done what we knew was right in the sight of the Lord.   For 4 years we have lived with the repercussions of not spanking him in a Biblical manner (read not abusive, but calm, in love).  Though the end is in sight, things at our house are much different than they used to be…

Little Bit’s anger has permeated every area of our family.

But we are working on it.  That is the why to last night’s post…

Today, I started reading in James. Chapter 1:23 says "If anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natureal face in a mirror.  For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like."

I have forgotten what I look like…

Coincidence?  I’ve got WOW 2005 playing right now.  Jaci Valaquez "Unspoken" is playing right now.   Here are the lyrics:

I hear daily news
People cry out for their freedom
My eyes turn to You
Don’t they know, Lord, You can lead them

If we all pray for peace
Change will come I believe
As we face the unknown
God heals us when we’re broken

He is there, use your voice
Raise Your Hands, make a choice
None of us are alone
Don’t leave your heart unspoken

God heals us when we’re broken
Don’t leave your heart unspoken

I pray save our souls
Help us find a new direction
We’re lost in the cold
Let Your arms be our protection

If we all pray for peace
Change will come I believe
As we face the unknown
God heals us when we’re broken

He is there, use your voice
Raise Your Hands, make a choice
None of us are alone
Don’t leave your heart unspoken

God heals us when we’re broken
Don’t leave your heart unspoken

Out of the dark
Into the light
He is there for us
With all of His might

He has the answers
He hears your prayers
Turn every corner
you’ll find Him there

Don’t leave your heart unspoken

If we all pray for peace
Change will come I believe
As we face the unknown
God heals us when we’re broken

He is there, use your voice
Raise Your Hands, make a choice
None of us are alone
Don’t leave your heart unspoken

God heals us when we’re broken
Don’t leave your heart unspoken

We’ve been feeling alone.  And empty.  Funny, Nancy Campbell sent an online devotional a few weeks ago about peace…but I had forgotten about it.   I think I’ll share all of this with the children in our morning devotionals.

I’m praying for peace in our home Lord…"God heals us when we’re broken"… It’s biblical, I claim that promise today!
